Is it beneficial to combine Pilates with the other forms of exercise offered at Absolute Pilates?

Yes.  Each form of exercise that we offer is designed to help strengthen your core and bring muscular balance to your body.  Barre, TRX and Kettlebell workouts also add a significant cardiovascular component to your workout. Our Fusion and Interval Circuit classes include a variety of strength and resistance exercises.

Is Pilates like yoga?

Both Pilates and Yoga incorporate a good, healthy breath. Both practices help with balance and mind-body connections.  Pilates however, is resistance and strength training. It focuses on muscle toning and intentional movement against the resistance of springs and pulleys.  Our concentration is on core strength, muscular balance throughout the body and postural alignment. In Pilates, everything is a stretch, everything is core strength!.
